I think I am in the same boat after the injunction was revoked in Sept 22 2020. I am preparing I944 too once the RFE hits. After doing some research online, I think I will just write a sworn letter stating that I don't have credit score here in the USA and the credit agencies could not provide it to me since I don't have SSN or whatsoever. I hope this will work.

If you’re adjusting from B1/B2, you don’t have a SSN so there is no credit history. We just sent a letterhead explaining this.

People can have credit history without SSN. Some people create credit history with ITIN and some even without one. There are some credit cards that allow you to add an additional user without providing the SSN, those cards will report the name, dob, and address to the credit agencies so they will have a credit history.

If you came on B1/B2 as a visitor, you will not have ITIN or SSN and you’ll have no credit history, even if you got a credit card under your name as an additional user with your spouse, nor you’ll be able to get a report due to lack of SSN. Credit report on I-944 is more for people who are already present in US on various other visa classes and have been legally working. But is 95% of cases you’ll receive your SSN long before your interview is scheduled and you can take your credit report with you to your interview.

I added my brother to one of my credit cards and he only has B1/B2 visa, so I just put his name and in less than a year he started getting credit card offers from Credit One at first, then Capital One and Citi. I added him to a Chase card.

Answering lokeqw question, what I would do is to request the credit by mail to Equifax/Experian/TransUnion putting N/A in SSN. I'm sure Equifax, at least, will respond that they need the SSN, then you can use that letter to show that they can't provide a credit report without SSN so no SSN not possible to get the Score. Here is the form to request the credit report. From https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/article...credit-reports it says that people can call 1-877-322-8228 to request the credit report too.

Ive been in the USA for 3 yrs and i dont have a credit score. My experian print out reflects this. Im financially stable with zero need for a credit card and have lived in housing with room mates or my husband so all the utility bills until recently have been in other peoples names. The internet accounts have been in my name - but they dont report to credit if theyre paid for in advance. I also dont have a smart phone - so no phone bill. It is what it is. Im writing a cover letter stating just that to go alongside the credit report.

                Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your responses. I contacted Equifax and they said that they will mail me a letter stating that my wife does not have a credit report. The USCIS policy manual says,

"If the applicant does not have a credit report, he or she may provide documentation that demonstrates that he or she does not have a credit report or score with a credit bureau and evidence of continued payment of bills. Younger applicants and recently arrived aliens may not have a credit history or score and therefore would provide a letter from one of the major credit agencies indicating that no credit report is available. Applicants who do not have a credit score may nevertheless establish financial status through other means, as explained in this section."

So I think getting a letter from the credit bureau is a better option. I also plan to intend to get a letter from my wife's doctors office stating that she has made all payments on-time as proof of continued payment of bills.

Good to know. I guess they have received enough calls to know what letter is needed and why.

If you can update your post when you receive the letter, so others can know the estimated time to get the letter and what does it say. Thanks.

Why dont you just go to social security office and request a letter of Social Security ineligibility ? My wife was on TD visa (dependent not able to work or get a ssn) and in order to get her drivers license here in Michigan the SSN is mandatory or a letter of ineligibility from the Social security office where they explain her prescense is legal but not allow to get a SSN.

You can get it in 10 minutes it's free and it's an official document
