So while filling I-944 for spouse. The question on credit report and score. She is on H4 dependent visa and got SSN 2 years ago even tho we have been in US for many years. When I tried on annualcreditreport.com and also on reporting agencies with her info they can’t identify her online. If I mail the request for credit report or to get prove that no report exist it will take me several weeks. Can someone help... what should I do?

I find it senseless when I’m the principal application and have filed the public charge document. My job (physician) and my tax returns prove enough that me or my family won’t be public charge. I have collected all documents from tax returns , documentation of assets etc, health insurance proof and my credit information.
how important is it for me to provide proof that my wife’s credit report doesn’t exist?

At the same time go ahead and send that request for a formal letter from the agency about no credit report, and you can submit in case you get an RFE (unlikely, in my opinion)
Also, you can include a copy of the letter you sent to the credit report agency if you want. It shows that you have done your due diligence to locate a credit report.
Finally, you can probably even take the response you get from the credit report agency with you directly to the interview when it is scheduled.Last edited by verbose; 10-04-2020, 12:58 AM.USC filed AOS for parents on B2. I am not a lawyer.

Do you have credit cards? Your spouse is in any of them? Did you provide her SSN when added to your cards?
I would try making an account with her information and SSN in the following site:
you will be able to print the Experian report there.Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

yea tried freecreditscore that doesnt work. She does have her name on my credit cards. but they dont add SSN now a days for secondary authorized card users but still report to agencies i was told. When i called equifax they said she has a credit report but they need us to send identity proof before we can see it and that process takes time. I could see her credit score on myequifax tho.
only thing that has worked so far is CREDITKARMA- i went there opened her account and added SSN and all that stuff. I dont know how but it pulled her credit report and score from transunion. score 806 and report has right previous mailing addresses cards etc. so i know its hers.
Weird thing is i can not pull that myself on transunion. i will still try monday calling them but my plan is to use creditkarma report. it says from transunion on it. i might add continued bill payments for further proof
if its for public charge and i dont understand this process. why all this is needed if im the primary applicant and caregiver and they have all my info. PLus my gross income on federal tax returns for 2019 is 600K+. i have never seen so much documentation asked for people in employment category. I can understand if this is family based immigration.

I-944 is a new form that started this year. In the past, sponsors affidavit of support was one the of main documents. Now it is one of the supporting documents and I-944 is important and has to be submitted. Yes, it is frustrating and onerous but that’s the way it is.USC filed AOS for parents on B2. Yea I know. But the purpose of I-944 is to determine public charge. Most of us with approved I-140 are far away from poverty levels. Anyone would think after looking at full time job position, salary and federal tax statements that no additional documentation should be needed. I’m just venting... I’m collecting everything I can as I don’t want some high school graduate to send me an RFE.
