I'm on the border of Octt/ Nov
Sent Oct 27th received by lockbox in Texas on Nov 2nd (I had certified mail tracking on it)
no receipt so far and my work permit expires Frida (feb 5th)
My work authorization is C09 which means I could get automatic extension with receipt but without it I'm out of luck and my employer (Sea World Orlando) needs the receipt for e verify
I'm so upset, have sent emails to lockbox and resent all paperwork again 2 weeks ago

Got the receipt on Thursday (4th) Took it to my employer and they extended my work permit through August 5tth
Yesterday (5th) got another letter from DHS that they will use my biometrics from last year for the production of the new card, so now I'm just waiting for the renewed card

You can always request a re-schedule. However, I read on some posts that once you have the notice in and and if you show up to the service center they will make you wait for some time but they'll do it. They are scheduling less people per hour due to COVID.

Does anyone have any info on what is happening with interviews. Tried to track in the topics for March to Sept filers and no one seems to have got any interview appointments. Any ideas on what is happening?

Submitted application on OCT 28 for me and my spouse including downgrade from EB2 to EB3. Received all the notices on Jan 6th stating USCIS generated these notices on Dec 24th. USCIS notices are generated from Mesquite TX service center.
I still have not received the biometric appointment letter. Is it normal for this much delay or should I be worried? Any ways to check the status if the biometric appointment already scheduled?

Hello Everyone,

My husband is the primary applicant of I-485, and I am the dependent. Our application of I485 and its EAD was sent on Oct 27th 2020 to the Nebraska Service Center. Now it has been more than 90 days, and we still have not received the receipt number yet.

My Questions:

1. Has anyone who has applied for I-485 around Oct 27 2020, received receipt yet? If not, How long will it take for the Nebraska Service centre to process the application?

2. I am the dependent and currently, I hold H4 visa. I recently got a job offer and I have another 30 days to join and start working. My question is, If I get a receipt number within 30 days, will I be eligible to start working legally with just the receipt number? OR Do I have to wait for the physical EAD card to start working?

3. While I-485 and its EAD is still pending approval(No receipt yet), Can I renew my H4 EAD?

Will renewal of H4 EAD affect the approval process of I-485 EAD? I am trying to renew my H4 EAD just to be on the safer side.

1. There are a lot of cases where the receipt no hasnt been sent yet, but I believe they are in process.
2. You may not be able to work using the receipt of the I765 filing, unless you receive the i485 EAD Card. Once you receive the i485 EAD Card, you may continue to work even without the receipt notice, as far as its application is sent timely (in case you have to renew it again).
3. Yes, H4 EAD and I485 EAD are completely independant.

These are my opinions and understanding based on what I have read on different forums and not legal advice. Request you to consult an attorney to confirm.

The long wait is finally over. Receipt numbers got generated. The I-485 number shows finger print fee received. Any idea folks how much time more to wait to get biometric appointment and finally EAD card ? We are actually in a very difficult situation due to not having work authorization ( lost both mine and wife's job) and are only banking on EAD to arrive. Any way of expediting it at this stage ?

I see that my checks got encashed on 02nd Feb for my Oct 30th Filing, but still not recieved the receipts yet. Have 2 questions
1) I had done the refiling 2nd time, as was not knowing if my 1st filing has been processed or not. Please let me know if I can cancel the 2nd file checks since, 1st filing checks got encashed 5 days ago? I don't want my 2nd filing checks to get encashed as well.
2) Checks enchashed on 2nd Feb, receipt still not received. How much time it will take after check encashed?

For 1) Are you doing the filing yourself. Otherwise only your lawyer can guide you on this. Or call USCIS. Never seen this before
2) Checks are cashed when they process and receipts are generated instantly. From there it is upto USPS but you should received within 7-10 business days. If you call or chat with USCIS you should be able to get the receipt numbers by providing your A-number.
