I am a US citizen and my husband is filing for adjustment of status. We realized after we submitted that we forgot to include the $535 fee for the I-130 form. Now we are waiting for the Chicago lockbox to open, reject, and mail back our entire application. We would really like to get the process going and I was wondering if anyone has gone through this.
One option we are considering is just resubmitting everything right away. But is there any chance they will accept our I-485 and only send back the I-130? I don’t want to create a mess out of this. I have heard mixed things about how long it takes from the package being delivered (9/24 for us) and receiving the rejected package back.
Additionally, because of all this some of the information is no longer valid on the forms we initially submitted. So are we expected to update any changed information or submit it as is? If we resubmit early do we need to include the rejection notices or can we file fresh?
I know this is a lot, so thank you in advance for any replies.
