Hi,
In general, I am trying to figure out my best situation. I am currently on an A2 visa and I'm about to merry my girlfriend which is a US citizen. We were told in my job (which is through my government) that we are not allowed to start a greencard process so if we wish to do so we need to quit and change to another visa before doing so. Once on a greencard you cannot go back to work so anyway I'm losing my job which is fine by me.... BUT- I would like to change into a greencard with out doing all that.
Is that possible or do I need any documents from my government?
Also, can I get into trouble with the US immigration authorities?
Thanks
