  • No text or mail notice after filing

    Hi guys,
This is my first time posting here after reading previous posts and how helpful they have been for people.
I filed for my AOS and it was delivered and signed (by J Harper) on 10/1/2020.
I havent recieved any text noticiation or mail receipt since then and I am getting really worried.

I have filed this application through an immigration lawyer and they were the ones who sent the entire application out after I had reviewed it.
After speaking to my attorney they said to wait and not worry but I cant help worrying since most of the people have recieved atleast a text notification if not the mail within that timeframe.

I also do not know if this delay is to be expected due to COVID19 or is this normal.

    Thanks!

May take up to 30 days before you receive any notifications. I assume COVID delays might make that even longer. Hang in there.

the person who "signs" the application is most likely the mail room person. It can take up to a few weeks for you to see the application scanned and logged and if you submitted the form G1145 e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance, Once your application is in the system you will get a txt. I used this forum to apply for my GC many years ago and I am now a USC who is in trying to sponsor my mother. I did not use a lawyer in both my GC and USC application process. You do not need to worry, USCIS is pretty good at communicating the status via txt and any inquiries via mail. But with Covid 19 time frames may defer . Best of luck.

Thanks guys for responding I also checked and found out that the check has not been cashed yet. I guess I will have to just wait at least till my 30 days are up. I will make a post as soon as I have an update.

Mine took more than 7 weeks to get the receipt numbers, Hopefully yours don't take that long, You should wait for 30 days and contact EMMA after that - USCIS chat service.

Thank you. I think that would be the only option if after waiting for 30 days nothing comes. My OPT process was so quick and smooth (every update and notification was like clockwork) in comparison to this but I guess I cannot compare AOS since I've been told its a pretty long and much more detailed process. And on top of that COVID19 delays which is not USCIS fault. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey, Congratulations on receiving your text notification. That gives me a little hope.I sent mine to Chicago. They still haven't cashed the check so I am also keeping an eye on that. Hoping to hear something soon. This waiting game is really nerve-racking.

Hey guys, so I wanted to ask something. Do any of you think that a longer wait time after sending the whole application means that it's been rejected? Each passing day I am having several doubts in my head like did they misplace it or did it get rejected and I would know after several days that it's been rejected. I seriously don't know what to do. Any answer/tips would be useful. I am sorry I sound like a negative nancy right now but I think I am just getting extremely worried.

                      (check hasn't been cashed yet)

Damn, we are in the same boat! I sent mine in the exact date and today marks 24 days and still no response from anywhere, so what I’ll do tomorrow is to call my bank and see if the check are cash or not. Good luck to all of us fam

I know. I keep seeing people who got response text or otherwise in a week and I am like why is my application not even been seen. I am sure I am over-analyzing but as time is passing all positive thoughts and motivation is going out of the window. Good luck to you too. Hope it works out for all of us.

I never got a text message - once I had the receipt numbers I had to create a USCIS account and turn on text notifications. A delay of a few weeks is not unusual - I’ve been filing stuff every few years (DACA) for 8 years now and everything just takes time...
