  • USCIS made a mistake?

Husband and I applied for marriage based I-485, along with EAD and travel documents. Got my biometrics done back in august and received combo card 3 weeks after. Well today got a letter, thinking it was an invitation for an interview but no...an invitation to go get biometrics done for travel card? That I already have? Have any of you received it also? Thinking about calling them on Monday

I have read a couple of cases like yours. They are not common. You can call and ask or go to the appointment again, they may have problems with your biometrics and need to do them again.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

Same thing happened to me. I received a letter to go and get biometrics done for my I-131 even though I already have one, and I just did biometrics in August. I'm also just waiting now for I-485 approval so I was a bit baffled. Anyway, I tried calling them 3x on Friday and the automated system would not put me through to a representative, so I'll try again today. It seems to be some kind of administrative error.

I called my lawyer yesterday and she said couple
others that did their biometrics in august received it too. She said to wait a week and see if I get another letter stating to disregard an invitation and if it doesn’t come then call next Monday. I’m really worried that smth was going on with their system in August and nothing went through. I really don’t want to be going through that again

          Hi there,

Same for me, I filed for an expedite in August, had to involve the senator to get a reply after 25 days, and I ended up doing my code 3 biometrics in September, and received my combo card 3 weeks later.
Last thursday I got another biometrics notice, for i131 and i765 (both cases already approved) it's a code 2 this time though.

Anyway, let's keep each other posted, it's possible they sent initial biometric notices by mistake... or it's done on purpose to add up to our already pretty stressful immigration-anxiety disorder haha

I couldn’t wait and called USCIS, turned out it was in fact a mistake. But call to make sure, don’t take my word for it. She said sometimes it does happen where at first they only send you invitation for biometrics regarding EAD and only then travel. She will ask you what it says on your original invitation
