  • EAD & AP approved without biometrics

    Hello everyone!

Just want to share my case but also have a question: Is it normal to have EAD & AP approved without biometric? I have not had biometric taken before.

Here is my timeline and process I'd like to share:
    • Late March: Submitted 485, 131 and 765
    • April: All Document received - Received notice
    • ...
    • ...
    • ...
    • (7 months later) September: Contacted Congress Women for help (still no biometric). Called USCIS many times and they said need to call back when it reaches 90 days after ASC opens. I called back on that day and filed many inquiries. The response has been the same " Our records indicate that we are awaiting your appearance for biometric processing. Your case is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your biometrics. Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for biometrics at their local ASC. Once you have been scheduled, you will receive an ASC Appointment Notice containing the date, time and location of your appointment."
    • Early October - Contacted Omsbudman Office for help, they are extremely helpful, I recommend check with them if your status is out of processing time.
    • October 23 - Received Biometric Notice for November 16
    • Today, October 31 - Received notice in the mail that 131 and 765 is approved

Field Office: San Jose California, National Benefits Center.

They probably won't send you the EAD/AP card until you complete biometrics I am guessing. or maybe they will, never know, USCIS is acting weird lately.

    My Timeline:

5/15: Filed I140/I485/I765/I131 concurrent (Employment Based) for myself and spouse
5/18: Received at USCIS Texas lockbox
6/1: Reject notices received for all, except I-140, due to missing I-944
6/4: Re-filed and received I485/I765/I131/I944 at USCIS lockbox
    6/25: Received NOA receipts
7/25: Received ASC biometric appointment notices for myself and my wife, scheduled for 8/03
    8/3: Biometrics completed
8/4: Case status updated to "Finger prints applied"

Did you eventually receive the EAD card before the biometrics
