  • SSN after AOS (EAD was part of application)

So, we had filed I-765 for EAD alongwith the AOS application and filled the social security related section as shown in below snapshot.
Now that AOS is approved and green card is received (before the intervening EAD card issuance), should we expect SSN card to be generated automatically and mailed to us, or should we go apply at the SSN office in person?

You need to apply direct with SSA. Not sure if they allow in person yet. Else by mail. Best to call your local SSA office for correct procedure. We had this same situation few months back and had to mail in greencard with application and pick it up again in person, process may have changed now though.

I called SSA last Thursday, and they took all the information and said they will evaluate and call back if we qualify for an in person appointment for new SSN issuance.
I called today and looks like it could take a couple weeks before we even hear back about an appointment, and then 7-10 business after the appointment is completed.

Question: Aren't we supposed to get the SSN cards issued since they were requested as part of the I-765 application? Or now that 485 is approved, the 765 is null and void and no further action will be taken to issue the SSN cards?
