I am US Citizen and applied for my mothers permanent residency in june 16. She had a valid visitor visa and we left the contry without advance parole for Cancun for one week in july. I had called prior to immigration hotline and was told that its ok to leave the contry as long as she has a valid visa. On our way back to US we were stopped by the border and inspected at the secondary inspection. She was allowed back to the country, but since we didn't have advance parole the officers said, that her application will most likely considered as abandoned. She will have her fingerprints appointment coming up in a week. We were told to continue with the process anyway. Is there anybody else who had a similar situation and what was the outcome? Thank you very much!
