  • Medical report submitted but forgot to include the Pink courtesy letter

We have completed our medical 2 weeks back and submitted the sealed envelop via courier. However I forgot to include the pink courtesy letter in the package. The pink courtesy letter says to provide a copy of the pink letter when submitting the sealed envelops, but did not say it is mandatory needed.

Will the USCIS still be able to identify our package without the copy of the pink letter or any cover letter? I really do not want to send a new Medical report to them if I don't have to but I need some suggestions please. Thanks!

Usually, the pink letter says "you didn't submit form I-693, you will need to send it if requested by USCIS or bring it to your interview". Did your pink letter said that you have to submit your medical?

It may be difficult for them to match your package if you didn't include a cover letter or something that includes your case number.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

Thanks for your comment. It actually said to submit our I-693. We actually expected to have an RFE to submit our medicals because we did not submit I-693 with the I-485

That is my worry now, how much time it will take them to match our package to our case because we do not have the pink letter included in the package.

But do you think they will be able to match it eventually?

Did you only send the sealed envelope or did you attach a cover letter with your Name, Address, Case Number, A number?

You may want to call USCIS and ask them what will happen and what you need to do.

From what I read, some doctors are willing to create a second sealed envelope with the same information with little or no extra fee. This could help you if USCIS says that you need to include the letter with your medical. Don't send another medical unless USCIS confirms that you need to send a new one. Good luck.

roadster123 it’s strange that the pink letter asked you to mail...mine said to wait until I receive interview date or an actual RFE with instructions on where to mail it. For my case, I got an RFE to mail it in. Having said that, I’m pretty sure in the medical sealed envelope is the actual form 693 which will have your information name address and A number ( the govt. doc I went to, gave me a copy of what was mailed) and the first page ias this information)...so once opened doesn’t seem like there’ll be any issue looking your case up. My worry is if it’s mailed to the right location... I thought those might be sent to the local uscis who are the ones that complete the adjudication of the AOS cases. But I could be mistaken.

Hi there, I only sent the sealed envelopes without the cover letter and copy of the pink RFE

I cannot get a representative over the phone to ask what to do. I just sent them a message thru USCIS online message about the package I sent

Yes I am not going a new one until I received an advise to do so. But I'm hoping they are able to match it up especially after they open the sealed envelops as the details are in there

Yes the pink letter specifically ask me to mail the 693. I was ask to mail to an address to the Benefits center in KS

Yes that is my hope once they opened up the sealed envelopes it will be all good. I just thought maybe on their initial sort without the RFE or cover letter they will not bother to open it

Have you submitted already your 693?

I'm pretty sure the form itself (I-693) has your A-number and your name/address etc on it.

it isn't strange these days re: asking people to mail the I-693. they are doing it quite frequently for cases in which interviews end up being waived.
You're right that the form itself contains all of the relevant information - A number /address etc.

You'll be ok. Don't worry. If they only wanted I-693 and nothing else, you should be ok because the form itself contains your identifying details.

Nowadays they are sending many pink letters to people and asking them to submit I-693 via mail and then waiving interviews, particularly in employment based cases.

killabee my comment on strangeness wasn’t about mailing the form specifically. I too was asked to mail mine. But I found it strange the pink letter said to mail it right away to an address. Most people who received it around the same time I did also noted that it provided further instructions on next steps vs. providing an address to mail. I suppose uscis is getting efficient and eliminating the extra step of sending an RFE after.

roadster123 yes, I mailed mine already in early August....that was the final step. A couple of weeks after that, I received notification that the card was being produced and case approved.

Ok I get you. I was asked to send mine to one of 2 addresses (one for regular mail, one for tracked mail) before a certain date. They are doing this now with covid.

Anyway, I now have my GC - v happy. Wishing everyone the very best!
