They all seem to have different processing times and when I have contacted EMMA I've been told to keep waiting.... If someone could help me out will be greatly appreciated, getting a bit anxious here since some filers already have EAD and on our side still no biometrics.... Thank you all
you are not alone. Filed December 23, 2020. Nothing after case/fingerprint was received. Employment-based here

I received an update on my receipt number May 4th that said "my expedite request received" - We are reviewing your request and will notify you if we need additional information.
Then on May 5th, I received an email from USCIS - "a receipt for my recent inquiry" saying my case is currently under review and I will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any idea on how long it normally takes for them to make a decision? Hoping and praying I get it approved soon.

      Timeline:
12/18/20: My package was received at Chicago lockbox
01/11/21: I received four NOA receipts in the mail (online case number indicates my fingerprint fee check was cashed on 12/29/20)
02/05/21: I received biometrics letter in the mail for my upcoming appointment, which is scheduled for the end of this month (letter came from the NBC)
      02/18/21: Biometrics appointment
04/09/21: I-485 receipt reads Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview
05/03/21: Requested EAD to be expedited
I'm in the same boat. On May 5th I also got "a receipt for my recent inquiry" via email. Maybe they send those emails in bulk.

      • Hi everyone,

happy to join Decembner-filers.I am married to a USC and filed for me and my 2 children.

I only got the receipt on Feb 2nd, and today a I-693 deficienc note. I now scedules an appointment for the medical exam next week.

But it seems several of you already had their biometric appointment, and also that several of you submited an inquiry.

I just tried to do that for the EAD, which I though should theoreticcaly/legally be processed within 90 days. But it says:Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage.
I dont understand that. May someone please explain why it doesnt work?

Also, I don´t know where to file the inquiry for the biometrics, which category is the right one on https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do?

Also, I am sad that the lawyer made a mistake regarding the children. We had to resubmit, and now their receipt date is about 7 weeks after mine
Ans I so so so wish we can go home in summer to visit our family and they can see their father.
Do you have any tips for me?

Thank you very much in advance!

You can't file an inquiry online for a biometrics appointment. Either call USCIS or use EMMA to chat with an agent and ask them to open the inquiry on your behalf. That is what I did.

          • For those who went to a biometrics appointment, how long after the appointment did your case status update online? Thanks!

            • Exciting update! My EAD expedite request was approved! My receipt now says, "We approved your request for expedite processing on your Form I-765. We are processing your case and will send you a notice of action with our final decision."

Has anyone had their expedite request approved and have an idea of the timeline for receiving actual card? And does it include advance parole (I'm assuming but not sure, no update on that receipt number yet).

Worst case scenario they will tell you that you have to keep waiting and your inquiry was unsuccessful.
When asked to expedite I got this from EMMA :
USCIS Considers all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis. USCIS can Require documentation to support the approval of an expedite request. The burden of proving that you meet the criteria rests on you. USCIS may consider evidence that is already contained in your application or petition and may not require additional evidence from you. This determination is made on a case by case basis. USCIS can deny your request based solely off the information you provide in the request and/or evidence in your application or petition. USCIS Has the sole discretion to decide whether to grant or deny a request. As a Note USCIS Does not consider expedite requests for applications or petitions that have Premium Processing Service available or for “Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” cases. You can make a request to expedite your case if you can demonstrate that your situation falls into one of the following categories 1. Severe financial loss to company or person, provided that the need for urgent action is not the result of the petitioner's or applicant's failure to File the benefit request or the expedite request in a reasonable time frame, or Respond to any requests for additional evidence in a reasonably timely manner (Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker, H-2A beneficiaries pending more than 15 days fall under this category) 2. Urgent humanitarian reasons (Filipino WWII Veterans Program (FWVP) beneficiaries fall under this category); 3. Compelling U.S. government interests such as urgent cases for the Department of Defense or DHS, or other public safety or national security interests. This type of request must come from an official U.S. government entity and state that the delay will be detrimental to the U.S. government); or 4. Clear USCIS error. Do you feel your need to expedite would fit one of the criteria listed above?

                      Is this normal?

Yes, that's what you get if you are asking to expedite your case like I765, but I thought you wanted to place an inquiry, which is a different thing. The inquiry I placed was not to expedite my case but to find out why it was being processed so slowly.
