So here is the thing... I am about to move cross country in the next 3-4 days but an interview was just scheduled for my case today in the current state where I reside... Should we just come back in Jan 2021 for an interview or change the offices and risk waiting another 3-4 months or potentially longer?

That’s exactly what I would do. After all, you can always claim that the move may not be permanent. It’s not permanent unless you make it permanent.

Yeah, that feels misleading if not an outright lie. Would avoid this with the USCIS.
no move is permanent until you make it permanent. Either way, I’ve seen people being turned away and rescheduled and others simple have had the immigration officer update the address at the interview.Last edited by UScitizenFilingforspouse; 12-29-2020, 12:26 AM.
