  • i-693 problem- not signed

    Hello all,

I initially mailed in a copy of my i-693 form in 1/2020, and I received a letter from the USCIS saying that the form was not signed by the physician as well as myself. I was pretty sure that the document was properly signed, but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.

Long story short and a couple hundred dollars later, I got another i-693. This time, the doctor and I absolutely made sure that we both signed the form. Fast forward a few months to 12/2020, I brought in the SIGNED i-693 in a sealed envelope along with me to the interview.

The interview went smoothly, but a week later, I received another notice from the USCIS saying that the form was not signed by the doctor as well as myself. This is hard to believe and very frustrating. I think there might have been a mistake, as I am 100% sure that the form was signed. I called the doctor, and unfortunately he is on medical leave. I tried contacting the USCIS by phone, but I have not been able to speak to a representative.

What options do I have to resolve this issue? Surely, I can pay a couple of hundred dollars again, but how can I make sure this does not happen again?

Has this happened to anyone else? or this is just an isolated incident?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have photocopies of the I-693? If you did, you would probably be able to avoid a lot of this by sending them a copy of the properly signed torm.

Sorry that happened to you, must be frustrating. However, my doctor gave me a copy of the form after the results came in, and we both double checked everything was signed correctly. It doesn't hurt to be pushy with the doctor and make sure everything is correct before sealing the envelope. I think it's important that you make sure you get copies of every single thing/form. Good luck.
