Our application was returned today due to missing signature of sponsor on I-864. There’s scanned numbers on each page and scribbled line on first page of each section forms. I really don’t want to reprint the whole thing; can we just resend back the old forms with corrected signature?

you really want to run that risk when you can simply copy the information and resubmit? shortcuts are the very worst way to approach immigration. IMO

Hi yinander - Same issue happened to me. I have missed signing in applicant signature box for my kid and it is rejected. Just curious, did they accept updating same application form with their scan number? Or you needed to file with new application form?
Also all supportive documents are returned with stapled together. Did you send back same set of supportive document as stabled?
Really appreciate your response on this

One more thing to add, as for the stapled documents, Don't unstapled them, they stapled them in that order as part of their normal process, that process just got interrupted by the unsigned form you submitted. I was just amend the form in question and return the package as is, thats what i did last year, worked out fine.Married with kids to USC,

Hi!
My question is related to missing signatures in my children's I-485 application.
I have filed the I-485 for the kids together with me. Today I received the petition returned (only kids) due to a missing signature in their application (the whole document is stapled). I prepared the petition myself for the kids and thought that that would be enough to provide the signature in this section. However, USCIS returned the children's application package (mine was accepted though) due to missing the applicant's signature. Since they are under 14, I (legal guardian) had to sign on behalf of them.
My question is:
1. Can I send the same application providing the signature? or do I need to make a new application? I see that USCIS also had a barcode and marked the I-485 application on some pages.
2. As the filing fee depends (it is less) if the kids are filed together (at least with one legal guardian) or filed separately. Now, if this application is filed again due to incomplete submission, does this mean the filing fee changes considering it was filed separately?
3. USCIS has provided the receipt number for this case. Do you have any experience(s) if the receipt number changes or remains the same (for checking the case online)?
Many thanks in advance and good dayLast edited by khadkhale; 02-09-2024, 02:34 PM.
