i-485 biomatric

Hi I filled my EB1 i-485 in Aug, received receipt notice in Aug had medical in nov and send medical to USCIS. no interview notice yet. now they send me and my wife a bio-metric appointment but have not sent for my SON (4 yr old ) . i have few questions
1. why they did not send bio notice for my son , they dont need bio for 4 yr old ?
2. no interview notice, send them medical and photo as a response of RFE and now biometric, do they waive interview

anyone has similar experience ?

They do not take fingerprints of kids below 14 years of age.

They do waive interview if they think it is not required (but not always).
