  • Assets of petitioner

    Hello,

My wife and I we applied for change of status for myself. They came back to her this week saying she does not have enough assets and if she could provide more or find a co-sponsor.

She has been a student the past yrs and she did not make enough but now she has graduated this pats May and passed her RN exam. She is now working as an RN making $22.00 hour.

My question is- could she use the check stubs she has recently received to prove that she has a legitimate source of income as the Tax returns and W2 we submitted clearly fell short? Also what difference could it make if she attest that her husband "me" is a CPA and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) that will not take long to get on his feet once approved.

Thanks in advance for any help.

check your yearly social security statement. If you have 40 or more points, you are home free and you don't need an affidavit of support. The top section on the second page of the social security statement will give you that information. If you don't have one, call or visit social security office and you can get one.
