  • I485 application rejected due to application type

I just received my i485 package back from uscis with rejection notices due to application type not fully completed. Section 2 of the i485 is the application type section and I’ve gone over it and can not see what I’ve done wrong or missed. I’m applying based on marriage. The only thing I can think of is that because I filed the i130 concurrently with it the receipt number of underlying petition section I put n/a as I did not have a receipt number due to it being filed together. Should I maybe have left it blank? Or now that I’ve received a receipt number for the i130 do they send it back on purpose to then be able to write that receipt number in?
all other forms were also rejected as stated on each of their rejection notices:
“the principal application could not be accepted for the reasons specified on the related notice of action form, therefore processing of all riding applications cannot continue”.

if that is not the problem then I really don’t know what I’ve missed/done wrong. Anyone else had a similar experience with rejection due to application type?

Ive uploaded the part 2 section of how I filled it out for reference.

    thanks in advance

unless you made a mistake on page 5, so far i see one mistake on page 3, question 24, what is your current immigration status, N/A is not the right answer. Could be that

Thanks for the info. I’m pretty sure I’m the principal applicant in my situation though since I have married a us citizen so I am the only one filing for AOS

For Part 2 #12, it might have been better to put something like "(concurrent filing)" instead of "N/A", since that question does apply since you are the principal applicant, but you don't have a receipt number for the petition because it's concurrently filed. "N/A" might give the wrong impression that you're not a principal applicant. Of course, since you are re-filing I-485 now, you would put the actual I-130 receipt number there.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Have you gotten any further guidance on this issue? I'm currently filling out the form and don't know what to put for Part 3 #24 since my status hasn't changed since I came to the US (F1 student). I am also filing I130 concurrently, so not sure what to put for Part 2 #12.
