Changing jobs after filing for I-485

Hello,
I am aware that I can change jobs 6 months after filing for my I-485. In this way in my next job I can continue the process without refiling for labor certification. My lawyer had filed for my I-485 on Nov 1st, 2020. So I believe I will be good to submit my resignation on 1st May 2020. However, I haven't as of yet received my receipt. I was wondering am I safe 6 months after date of filing that is Nov 1st, 2020 or 6 months since I receive my receipt?

You will need an EAD for that. And i think you will be eligible for an EAD 6 months after filing your AOS. So you might have to wait longer than that.

But i am not a lawyer. And the above is my understanding of what i have read. So please confirm with your lawyer.
