Waiting for Name Check and Emergency Travel

I am american and my wife is from China, we passed our interview in October and are waiting for the name check so she can get her Green Card. In the meanwhile one of her relatives is very sick and my wife is having anxiety over not seeing her loved one. We were interviewed in Seattle. I have made contact with a senator's office in WA, but I am not sure what else I can do. Any ideas? Or more details needed?
