  • Can I Get a Green Card If I've Worked in the U.S. Unlawfully? PLEASE HELP

I am applying for an employment-based green card. My perm has been approved. I was putting together my documents for i-485 when I realized I didn't have a work authorization for 2 months when I was working with my previous employer.
My CPT for part-time work had expired on September 4th and my OPT wasn't approved till October 26th. I was working two days/week with my previous employer from March 1st until October 29th and those dates have been published in my perm application.

Please tell me what am I supposed to do? If you have any ideas, any experience, please let me know. Am I going to get denied??
I am freaking out! All my hopes are shattered.

Hi again, I was doing some research and realized there is a chance since I worked illegally for less than 180 days. Does anyone know about 245k adjustment? Does it make the process longer? I want to know the exact process before letting my attorney know.

Yes, you can do Adjustment of Status in an employment-based category as long as you have been out of status or working illegally for less than 180 days since your most recent admission.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Does that affect the process overall? i.e. make it longer?
