  • Gap between fingerprints being taken and ready to be scheduled for interview

I took a look at the USCIS website again this afternoon – for case history, the last entry still shows fingerprints were taken in August. Looking across the various i-485 threads, I keep seeing ‘Case is ready to be scheduled for interview’ happening generally about a month afterwards. I’m also seeing people with PD dates near, and a few beyond, mine now having scheduled interview dates.

Just wanted to ask what is the normal range for time between fingerprints being taken and case being ready to schedule for interview? And it is normal / abnormal to not be seeing it 5 months later?

Oh, and is an interview always required – can it go straight from fingerprints taken, to approved and card being sent?
