Employment prior to I-485 filing

One of my sons is only 13 years old, until DEC of this year. So, I'm pretty sure I only need to pay $1600 for him ($600 for the I-485, no biometric fee, and $1000 for the I-485A). My other two sons are between 14 and 21 (per the CSPA age calculations).

Today's task is to try to fleece some relatives for some money!

I'll just bat my eyelashes and try the whole puppy dog thing! lol

hmmmmm ... thinking some more about what you said about the fine.

For applicants that do not have to pay the $1000 fine, the instructions say:

"Applicants who are an unmarried son or daughter of a legalized alien and less than 21 years of age ... and have attached a copy of a USCIS receipt or approval notice for a properly filed Form I-817"

so ... can I send an I-817 along with my I-485 application and get out of paying the fine for my three sons under the CSPA age of 21?

oh ... wait ... didn't read that right ...

those are two different categories that qualify for not having to pay the fine ... and one of them is when the CSPA age is less than 17, so I guess my 13 year old does not have to pay it!
