  • dupelicated documents when concurrent filing i130 and i485

    Hi All
After reading in this forum, I learned for marriage-based applications with the concurrent filing of i130 and i485, I should put everything in 3 big manila folders. They are
    1. i130 folder with i130a and supporting docs
    2. i485 folder with i944, i864, i131, i765, i693, and the supporting docs
    3. proof of bonafide marriage.

In the form instruction, it said that if certain evidence is needed for multiple forms, I only need to submit it once as I quote

"Evidence. At the time of filing, you must submit all evidence and supporting documentation listed in the What
Evidence Must You Submit and Specific Instructions sections of these Instructions. If you will be submitting the same
documentation (such as tax return transcripts or birth certifications) for the I-485 or the I-864, you do not need to submit
    the documentation multiple times."

Now my question is where do you put certain documents that are needed for more than one folder? For example, the beneficiary's passport and birth certificate (needed for folders 1 and 2)? marriage license (needed for folders 1 and 3)?

    Thanks

There are many ways to organize your concurrent (i485/i130) submission.

I had 7 folders and included duplicates of several documents that were needed in more than one folder.

        That good to hear. Congratuations

Do you also separate the folder into 3 folders(or something like that )? Where do you attach your passport? I130 evidence or I485 evidence?
        Thanks

I just put all the forms first and attached all the stuff (my passport, my wife's passport, birth certificates, tax returns etc etc) at the end. They figured out what was what.
