485 v/s Consular Processing

My employer is forcing me to got through the I-485 route while I would prefer the CP route as it is faster. If I file 485 it will be in CA center

1. Is the time for CP v/s 485 vastly different
2. Can my employer force me to go through the lengthier process even when I am paying for expenses for travel
3. What options do I have?

Hi:
CA is making huge progress in the process of 485, the recent average is around 6 months.
No reason why you cannot ask for a CP if you cover the expenses. If you are clean and have no change in your company/job since the approval of 140, CP is fine
