  • Interview scheduled 2 hours away

After waiting 14 months , i am finally scheduled for my AOS interview. However I was surprised to see that they scheduled me two hours away in fresno. Whereas I live in the san francisco bay area.

should I even bother contacting USCIS or just suck it up?

I'd say suck it up. You were probably scheduled at Frenso to ease the backlog in San Francisco.

Depends on how eager you are for your GC. If you are tired of waiting, then I too will vote "suck it up".

If the case is by marriage and close to the 2 year wedding anniversary, some people may consider re-schedule just to get a 10-year unrestricted green card. That means that you will need to wait more time for the green card and probably get scheduled in Fresno anyway. Good luck.

We waited almost three years for our interview. I would have been willing to travel six hours one way if needed.

Your advice makes sense but what if your work permit EAD card expired before the 2 year anniversary like mine? My 2nd wedding anniversary is August 2021 and my work permit expires July 2021 and my AOS interview is May 2021. I did apply for extending my EAD before I got a letter for my interview in February 2021 and havent heard anything from USCIS about my EAD extension not even NOA.

Did you send the EAD renewal within 180 days before the expiration date? I sent my renewal in January and the receipt letter arrived almost 10 weeks later. There are reports that sometimes it takes 3-4 months to get the receipt.

Holy smokes! We're into months now?? That's basically two and a half months just for the receipt. Recently renewed my wife's AP and it was about a month for the receipt where it used to be a week. No telling when it will get approved.
