Hello, we just received my husband's work permit. I am not sure if I am supposed to go to the social security building to apply for his social security number or if it will come on its own? When I check the USCIS website it says it will arrive in the mail in 7 days. It has been over 14 days now and we still have not received it. Does anyone know what we should do?

Part 2, item 14 asks "Do you want the SSA to issue you a social security card?
If you said YES then the SSN will arrive within 2-3 weeks after the combo card has been issued.
Good luck.
