  • Second RFE for I-693 less than 2 years

Just received a second RFE for I-693 saying that the form expired after submission. The civil surgeon signed less than 2 years ago so I don't understand why USCIS is saying that. The original I-693 still valid for 3.5 months.

Is there anything we can do to correct this or is better to just pay the civil surgeon again and get a new form? They are expensive around here and we need to do 3 for the family.

The I-693 is only valid for 2 years if submitted with the I-485. If submitted afterward, validity is only 1 year.

Edit: Info above is incorrect. I must have misremembered.

Thank you. Do you have a link to that information?

I always refer to this: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/...rt-b-chapter-4
and there is no mention that it is only valid for 1 year if submitted afterward. It says that it is valid for 2 years from the date the civil surgeon signs the form.

I must have misremembered for some reason. You are correct.
