Hi I am from Kerala. I am trying to find how to get birth certificate. Kerala now has online certificate. Is it sufficient ? If not what else is needed?

Yes, I have downloaded mine online and that should be fine since it says in the bottom of the report that it should be treated as original (something along those lines).
Make sure you ask local municipality to update your name in the report. It takes 24 hours to reflect your name in the report. You may also get a SMS when it is updated. -

Also what do u mean by update the name? They have made mistake in the birth certificate spelling. Will they correct it?
Also no one is there is kerala now. Did u find anyone who could get it done ?Comment

The birth certificate does not have our name printed. So you should provide your 10th certificate and other documents to get that printed.
I have other major issues- my birth certificate DOB is not matching with other docs.. i am on a long drive in this path.. yours seems to be pretty easy one

Luckily name is already existing for me. Only pbm I have is they have added a ‘h’ at the end of the name. And made mistakes with the spelling. Like instead of single m they have done mm. My mothers name ends with ruti they made it roty. Planning to get affidavit instead of going and getting this corrected. Any ideas?

You can get an affidavit.
For me, my mother's initial is mistyped "L" instead of "N". i tried to correct that but it seems pretty difficult or the registrar was not ready to accommodate that request because he feels that his department never makes such mistake.
I am somehow satisfied with their service to add my name in the BC per passport which is First name + Last name instead of SSLC certificate which is first name + initials.
