After such a long wait finally my priority date is going to be current in April 2021. I filed my I-485 back in 2012 and since then I am on EAD. Now since its becoming Current, I have a question and may be someone with experience can tell what to expect. Do I need to contact USCIS and open Service Request for my 485 or will it automatically be picked up? Will they simply send Green Card or will there be an interview etc..? please let me know

Usually, after your PD became current they will review your case again, they can approve your case and issue the Green Card, send RFE or set an interview date. Each case is different. It can take days/weeks/months after your PD is current. I hope you get your GC soon.
You don't need to create a service request but you can if you want, I think your case should be outside processing time because it looks like they don't make difference with cases that the PD is not current for a long time.Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

All my posts are based on my experience or information I read on the forums or the USCIS website. I may be wrong. Please consult a professional.

sahmarankhan go to the following link to check your PD
USCIS, in coordination with Department of State (DOS), is revising the procedures for determining visa availability for applicants waiting to file for employment-based or family-sponsored preference adjustment of status. The revised process will better align with procedures DOS uses for foreign nationals who seek to become U.S. permanent residents by applying for immigrant visas at U.S. consulates and embassies abroad.
