  • Closed form I-824

    Hello good people,

Can someone please help me with this. I filed follow to join form I-824 concurrently for my spouse who is back home. I got this today from USCIS and I don't know what it means.

On April 7, 2021, we closed your Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, Receipt Number **** **** **** ***, because the applicant or petitioner received a status or benefit through other means. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    Any answer will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

So you send the I-824 with your I-485? Is your AOS EB? Did they approve your AOS?
It looks like they think your spouse received an immigrant visa.

Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

@ Enub4, Yes my AOS was EB3 and they approved it in Jan this year. My spouse is still back home, what do I have to do?.

Sorry this happened to you. I don't have experience with this but can you check your I-824 to check there was no errors and it clearly said that your spouse is going to do consular processing?

Did you receive an email or a letter? It doesn't say if something can be done to reopen the case?

I guess you can send a new I-824 but I don't know if that will be better than trying to reopen the case.

Let's see if newacct can comment on this (or someone else with experience).
