    April 2021 Biometrics - Join Here

    Starting this post to track application/case status for I-765/485/131 for applications who had Biometrics done in April 2021.

    I had my Biometric done 04-06-21 and waiting for update. Reading other posts some folks with Bio in Feb got EAD in 2 weeks while others with Bio in Jan are still waiting for an update.

    Let's add info here and keep everyone updated.

          Biometrics reused; Updated 4.19.2021 - Status on I485 and I-765 show "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken"
          PD is current.

          Family Based AOS (Parent)
          PD: 03/03/21
          Package: I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765, I-944, I-864, G-1145
          3/01/21 Mailed Packet
          3/03/21 Delivered - Chicago Lockbox
          3/25/21 Checks Cashed
          3/28/21 Received Receipt numbers through SMS
          4/05/21 Received NOA in the mail
          4/19/21 Previous Biometrics applied to forms I- 485 and I-765
          8/18/21 Both the I 485 & I-130 Approved
          8/23/21 We mailed your new card your Form I-485
          8/26/21 Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office

            I see that your application is AOS for parent. In that case, how did they reuse the fingerprints? Is it from the fingerprints received as they entered at port of entry on tourist visa? My application is also for AOS for my parent. Thanks in advance for your response.
            I-485 AOS for parent
            I-130 filed online on 3/23/21
            I-485 package received by Chicago lockbox on 3/29/21
            SMS for receipt numbers on 4/25/21
            I-130 approval notice received on 5/10/21.

              The biometrics reused are from back in 2017 which taken on a different application. I have seen some people biometrics reuse go as far back as 5 years. Not sure what the threshold there is, also not certain if biometrics taken at the point of entry can be reused for an AOS application (hopefully someone can confirm this).

                  Marriage AOS (F1 to GC, California, MSC)
                  1/05/2021 UPS shows package again delivered, received by Chyba
                  1/20/2021 Check cashed; Receipt text messages hours later
                  4/19/2021 Biometrics done
                  4/22/2021 Case shown fingerprints taken
                  5/10/2021 I-765 Approved; I-131 Approved; new card being produced
                  5/17/2021 Combo card received
                  8/17/2021 Interview Scheduled
                  9/20/2021 Interview finished; I-485 approved new card produced
                  9/25/2021 GC in mail
