  • I-864 documents for Interview

    Hi all,

we have our interview coming up and I am preparing documents to take with us. My husband is sponsoring me along with my mother in-law as a joint sponsor. I submitted the I-864 with my initial packet along with all required evidence. Does anyone know if we need to take the same evidence again to the interview? The letter says we need updated tax returns from me and my husband along with Joint Sponsor which we will take with us but it also says take only if not already submitted(which is confusing) it also says they need a letter from my husbands employer which we won’t get because he is a realtor so he’s technically self employed.do we need to take joint sponsor’s paystubs and employer letter as well?
Can anyone help me with this?

    thank you in advance!

From what I read, most people bring all the originals submitted plus all the updated/requested documents on the letter. Sometimes the officer asks for something so is better to have everything ready. Some people even bring copies so the officer doesn't need to make copies.

I guess for self-employed a letter explaining the fact and the income in the last few months. I would take the sponsor's paystubs or proof of assets too. Good luck.

Note: no expert and no interview yet. Someone else may give more information.

I don't think this should even be a question. Bring everything you already submitted plus all new information. You never know what they are going to ask so better be prepared than risk getting RFE and wait longer!
