My story was I got adopted probably 6 years ago and got two times being denials because I didn’t meet the Hague Convention requirements. I kept providing more evidence since the first failure, then I quitted the process after the second attempts. Then I met my husband and applied for the whole process again. Things went really well by the following time stamps:
Feb 2021: Applied for I485, EAD, I130 for the marriage
March-April: Does not need to do biometrics and fingerprints because of the adoption case earlier
April 28: Scheduled for an interview
May 26: Had the interview and case under review
So the interview went so smoothly that we didn’t really expect it to be due to my previous case. My officer asked my about my DOB, my husband’s DOB, our mailing address, how did we meet, first date/second date, did he propose? Where?, Yes/No questions. I admitted that been out of status for a little while because my adoption had been canceled since 2018, and also admitted that got 2 times denials for the adoption which all these information are not relevant to my case now and the officer didn’t ask anything further. The end she said she will review my case and ask if I have any questions for her and we both said no. The interview went 25min, we’re the last one of the day. We dressed professionally and did everything in the checklist.
Should I be worried since everything was so fast and smooth? Within 3 months, I got my interview done and she didn’t ask any trick/hard questions. Not even ask a lot more in our personal life.
