  • Proofs for I 485

    I need help..about process after marry ( I m K1 visa holder)

I would send I-485 with 131 and 765, but I m interesting which proof our marriage we need send, or that we need bring when we would go on interwiev?

Someone told me that is good if we have contract for the lease of the apartment on names both of us, together bank account, like a proof that we living together.

Is it true? What they ask on interwiev?

    proof

First of all you need to clarify a bit your situation. What do you mean you are on K-1 now? If i understand correctly you are engaged to an american citizen and went through the process of entering USA on a K-1 visa (also known as fiance/e visa), is this correct? If yes, then it is most likely that you went through an interview at the US Consulate or US Embassy in your country prior to getting the fiance/e visa, correct? During this interview you had to prove that you and your partner are truly engaged and this is not a scam as in mail order bride/ groom, correct?
What proof did you use for that interview?

Since you are already in the USA on K-1 that means you have/ had 90 days from the day of admittance to MARRY your partner!!! Did you get married within 90 days? If yes, after the marriage you needed to file for I-485 and wait until you are given an interview date.

If you check this website they have a list of bona fide of marriage items and/or papers that are acceptable by immigration to bring with you during the interview. Also in the notice (letter from USCIS) of your appointment date the immigration gives you instructions of what qualifies as acceptable proof!!!

So, that tells me that you have not received any letter of appointment date yet and am guessing that you just filed for i-485, correct?

    please clarify...

You may also need an interpreter with you during the interview...
Your partner CANNOT assist you with translation and he/she are not allowed to intervene during your questioning! Otherwise it looks suspicious and you get in trouble. Interpreter services are given by the USCIS if you notify them. It is best you understand what you are being asked.

I m going next week in US, and week after that we will be marry....After that, I wanna sent I 485 and work and travel permission together.
But, I wanna prepare for next step process....I dont understand how I can have some proof our marriage, except photos and certificate, if I would send I 485 one-two week after marriage ceremony? Before I get K1, I given all proof of our fiance relationship in Embassy.

And, can u send me the link where I can see list of bona fide of marriage items ?

      Thank you
