  • F2B unmarried child over 21

Hi there! My dad (who is a GC holder) had filed i130 for me. I was over 21 when he filed so I fell into the category F2B unmarried kid over 21. My i130 was filed in 2016 and approved in July 2020. Based on the visa bulletin, I can now start filing for i485, i864, and i693.

I have couple questions - is it okay if I have kid while still maintaining single status (not married)? Would that affect my case?

has anyone with a similar situation (unmarried kid over 21/ F2B) got interviewed? What’s the interview generally about?

    thanks in advance!

Yes, it's okay, and the child will be your derivative beneficiary.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
