  • My timeline. My interview is scheduled! Any advice?

    Hey guys! I hope this could help just like when I was looking for information. Manhattan NYC. ( I didn’t file I-30 and I-485 together)
    December 2019: I-30 submitted
    July 2020: I-30 approved.
    Aug 2020: I-485 submitted
    November 2020: Fingerprints
    December 2020: Combo card EAD
    May 2021: interview has been scheduled.

    I haven’t received the interview letter yet, but any advice or common questions they ask during the interview are welcome! Thank you!

    Don’t forget any paper.
    Pictures with friends.
    Any hard proof (car lease, loans, car insurance, etc.)

    Based on my experience.

    02/24/2020 Package sent I-130,I-485,I-765
    02/28/2020 Package received by USCIS
    03/17/2020 Received 4 messages for NOA
    03/23/2020 Received 4 NOA hard copies
    10/06/2020 Received Biometrics letter for 10/20
    10/20/2020 Bio-metrics done
    10/30/2020 Fingerprints Were Taken at 10/20/2020
    11/09/2020 Case is Ready for An Interview I-485

          Advice? Well, you might be asked about spouse's direct family members. You might be asked about your house(where furniture is located etc). You might be asked about the "moving in" process (who moved in with whom. Was UHaul or something else used). You might be asked what model year your spouse's car is. There are a vast number of questions you can be asked.

          You don't have to know ALL of them. It's ok if you don't remember specifics. But you can't for example not know how to spell your spouse's name, even if you don't quite remember her phone number.

          The interview is pretty easy. Take ALL of the evidence(photos, insurance, bills, i94 etc) that you have, even if you've submitted them before.

          Most of the questions will go both ways. E.g. your spouse may also be asked about your family members, or to write down your name.

          08/15 - Case Is Ready for an Interview.
          10/08 - New card being produced
          10/11 - Card was mailed
          10/15 - EAD in hand
          12/6 - Interview was scheduled(1/10)
          1/10 - Interview/Approved
          1/18 - GC in hand (CR6-2years)
