separate fingerprinting for I-485 and I-765?

Hello to everyone.
Here what I would like to know.
A few weeks ago my wife was fingerprinted following her applications for AOS and Work authorization. Two weeks after she got another appointment notice for fingerprinting, this time it was indicated that it is for Authorization to Work.
Is this something common - to go for two consequent fingerprinting for I-485 and I-765?
I believe it has always been done once.
I'd appreciate any input.

Sounds strange. No harm in getting them done though, as long as you don't have to pay extra.

You're absolutely right. When we called to USCIS they recommended the same.
