AOS Interview Completed. IO took my EAD. Investigating prior marriage

Hi,
I've completed my A0S interview this morning. The interview started great with lots of joke stories and laughters, but afterwards the IO started questioning my previous marriage. My ex- wife petitioned for me (I-130) but I never filled for an AOS with her. The IO questioned the divorce timing with my ex-wife and the quick marriage with the present wife. I let him know that I've known my present wife for a long time and that the marriage with my ex did not go well reason why we've divorce. He never questioned the integrity of my present marriage and all documents where provided to proof the authenticity of the marriage. At the end of the interview, he asked for my EAD card and kept it saying that I would not need it. He said something like he needs to iron out the ex wife situation and will send me the verdict letter my mail. I'm literally freaking out at this point. Did some of you guys went through a similar experience ? Any advise on what to do next or feedback on this situation ?

Most cases when a person leaves his first wife (especially if she belongs to this country) and soon after marries the second from their own country, its a red flag and raises question of immigration fraud.

@daru786. Thanks for your reply. In this case, my ex-wife filed for the divorce. The second wife is not from my own country. But I understand it still can raise a red flag. Do you know someone that has been in the same situation ?

did you get your legalization through your first wife?

Congratulations if your EAD was taken by the IO and it was not revoked( this would have been through the mail) and the IO says "you will not be needing this" untill otherwise proven you should be expecting a CPO/welcome mail.

@daru I did not get my legalization through my 1st wife. As I said I never adjusted my status with her. We finalized our divorce before I could even do that. I'm trying to adjust my status with my present wife.

i filed for aos for my wife and we recieved noa since 3rd week of july. its been 2months and we have not gotten a letter for our biometrics appointment. she is getting really worried and that makes me worried too. i told her not call so we don't look desperate was that a good advice? should i allow her call them and find out?

Please don't wait any longer call the National Customer Service # and ask to speak to a level 2 IO concerning your case. Please look for USCIS NCS# on USCIS Website.
