  • AOS question

    Hi

I need the suggestion regarding filing for AOS my spouse. We are moving to the new apartment from next month in the same zip code. all the paper work is ready. should we wait for the next month and file than from new address or should we do ahead and file now and change the address after filing.

    Thanks

I would just wait, we were in a similar situation, moved from apartment to purchased home and we just waited until after home purchase just to avoid extra forms and or delays. Plus home purchase documents were going to be included in AOS package. hope this help you decide

      Hi,
I suggest you to wait for moving to new address then file the petition.. It is only one month you can migrate to new house, why you want to take risk? It is better to wait, relocate then proceed ahead. And just curious to know, Is this family based or Employment based petition?
      Thanks

            Hi,
            Please see my response below.
            What is the Risk please
Answer: For family based GC petition, All communication will be mailed to your home address. So, Its better to have current and permanent Address instead of changing address many times. Sometimes, USCIS may not consider new address as they may not have any update on the address change update details.
Can we use the new home address and file now as we have the signed the lease.
Answer: Yes. If all formalities been completed and you have access for new home then proceed ahead.
            Thanks
