I-485 Filing location

Hi -

I am filing I-485 (AOS) in EB1-C category based on approved I-140. My residence is in Phoenix (AZ). Not sure about the filing location.

Any help in providing this info is appreciated.

It really depends on how you answer part 2 of the I485 form. Read page 5 on
I-485 instructions.

This should give you the location of your filing. It will be most likely the Phoenix Lock Box location.

Its based on the jurisdiction. I-485 instructions clearly tells you where to file.

In I-485, Option (a) has been checked in part 2. In I-140, option (c) was checked in part 2.

The instruction document speaks about category A-F, but I couldn't find category F. Mine falls under the category 4 (2nd para) in page 7, but it indicates Dallas lockbox.

Shouldn't this be based on where I am located, in my case Phoenix?

Based on your category, if it falls under the Dallas lockbox, send it there. Does not need to be where you live. The lockbox will process your check and forward the application to the service center that has jurisdiction over your case.

Why does what you checked in I140 come into picture here? Follow instructions for what is checked on I485 and send it where it belongs. You should be fine if you follow the instructions for the form that is in question.
