Hi everyone,
I’m writing to share my experience and get advice on what I should do regarding my case. We submitted (marriage based) our paper work in mid September and the USCIS sent us case receipts on October 1st. Basically, the problem we are having is all of our case is now on an adjudicated hold because the switch in the i-944 requirements (no longer required). There is a hold on our case because we didn’t respond. Our lawyer said a response wasn’t needed because the document is no longer required by USCIS and said it’s clearly stated in their new rule that it’s not needed.
Is this an error on USCIS part? Our case had been at a halt since February. I already reached out to USCIS with no response multiple times. I reached out to my local congresswoman and she hasn’t heard back yet. What are my options?
Should I contact state senator or ombudsman? Is anyone else experiencing this same problem? I am scared my case will be thrown out based on a response that was no longer needed.
