  • Need help pleaseeeeeeee!!!!

I am a F-1 student who has been married to a US citizen for 2yrs . I sent my paper work in for my adjustment of status. my husband he is a student. He transfered this semester and got accept to start school in january. however since my husband does not work i sent in an affidavit of support from our family friend (a doctor) but the USCIS requested a 1-864 form from my husband and taxes filed...My husband does not work please help what can i do...????????

No big deal, do not even worry. Even though your husband does not work, he must submit an I-864 and the co-sponsor needs to fill an I-864a, along with your husband.
    Good Luck!

Your husband needs to fill an I-864 no matter what. If he is un-employed and has not filed any taxes, attach a cover letter along with the I-864 explaining that. If the co-sponsor filled an I-864, then the co-sponsor needs to fill an I-864a along with your husband.

Requirement is very simple and straight forward. Principal sponsor always fills and I-864, no matter what. Co-sponsor fills and I-864a along with the principal sponsor.

        Good Luck!

Some of the information given is incorrect. The family friend who is being a joint sponsor would do an I-864 just like the spouse. Only a joint sponsor who lives in your household, under the same roof as you, would do the I-864A.
