  • USCIS Temporarily Extending Validity Period of Form I-693

Beginning Aug. 12, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is temporarily extending the validity period for Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, from two years to now four years due to COVID-19-related delays in processing.

USCIS may consider a completed Form I-693 as valid if:
    • A decision on the applicant’s Form I-485 is issued on or before Sept. 30, 2021.
I guess they are trying to not RFE for medical if you are EB and you sent a medical less than 4 years ago, so they can approve more EB cases before the end of the fiscal year.

Do you think they are really trying not waste green cards this year.

I think they are trying but they will not be able to not waste. It is a little too late for things like this.

This change will only last less than 2 months and will not benefit a lot of cases. Only cases that have the I-693, are near or over 2 years old but less than 4, then the officer can approve without requesting another I-693.
