  • What's next after I-765 approval

    Hi,

I am currently on F1 visa and working on CPT. (Applied for Marriage based green card and filled I130,131,485 and 765)

My I-765 and I-131 got approved recently and I do not know if I need to drop my CPT class?

Can anyone please help on what happens to my current visa after my I-765 gets approved?

You can keep your current visa active if you continue within all restrictions.

If you want to start working in a non-F1-approved job, then you can do it with your AOS EAD card. If you do this, is better to contact your school to properly close your Sevis now that you are in AOS.

Some people keep the F1 visa until they get the GC, others until they use AP, or work with EAD. Good luck.
