  • Weird Thing Happened at My Biometrics Today. What should I do?

My application for Adjustment of Status is under initial review.

I went to have my biometrics today. On a form where I must write down basic information, I wrote China for both questions "Country of Birth" and "Country of citizenship."

After I was called in for the fingerprints, one staff asked me to sit there and I saw her enter information on the form into the computer. She's either scanning my writing or entering herself on touchscreen. She asked me to check the info on screen. I saw "CN" for "Country of Birth." Of course, CN stands for China. Then I saw "RC" for "Country of citizenship." So I asked her what RC means. She said "Republic of China." I thought, that was correct.

Then I came home today and suddenly realized that Republic of China, or RC, means Taiwan. China is PRC. If I put down "China" on both blanks, how could she scan that and came up with one CN the other RC?

But she might also be correct if Taiwan's abbreviation on her system is "TW." Unless I am the only Chinese person she has ever worked with, otherwise she should know, right?

I want to check with them, but they don't answer phones and I would have to go through the trouble making appointment and driving all the way down there (kinda far from home). What should I do? Is it a big problem? If it is incorrect entry, will they correct it when they look into my files?

    Thank you!!

Call the USCIS customer service number and explain them what happened. If there is a problem, they will fix it at their end.

Guys. I called twice and confirmed that there is no way they can help change it via phone. I have to make an infopass appointment again.
