I read on the forum that some folks did a walk-in for their biometrics, but a) I'm not sure if that's something that's encouraged and b) even if they allow walk-in for biometrics, will if help expedite my case in any significant way?

Will appreciate if someone has any suggestions.

    Thanks!
I tried this in SF ASC and got denied. Officer said they don't accept biometrics outside the date/place of the notie

Thanks! That what I figured as well. I went for my biometrics appointment today and the place was packed! However, they did a great job of keeping things moving and I was out of there in 40 mins.

Does anyone know how long it is taking to get the EAD these days after biometrics? I've heard ~1 month but would love to hear what others have experienced.

Could you please give me your inputs on tax return vs tax transcript ? for my spouse, we tried online or by telephone way to get the tax transcript but it did not workout, as it kept on throwing the error that the information was not able to get it. One reason was that the taxes for years 2018, 2019 were filed late via paper in June 2021 (just before the application process was begun) and there are no tax transcripts. We do have a lawyer for our case, however, we are also looking for some experiences on whether submitting tax returns should be fine or not ? Please let us know your inputs.

                    Hi everyone,

Want to share some positive news with everyone. Looks like my I-485 has been approved and they have mailed it to us (should be getting in the next few days). Here's my timeline:

                    EB2 Application submitted on 8/10
                    Receipt notices received on 8/22
                    Got Biometrics letter on 10/9
                    Biometrics done for 10/25
                    I-485 approved on 11/20
                    GC mailed on 11/24

I was very presently surprised by 2 things: 1) How quickly things moved post biometrics; 2) The fact that they straight away approved the I-485 without doing the EAD/AP approval.
This is a very positive sign that things are moving very quickly & I hope everyone here gets their GC's soon too!

Wow, that is the fastest EB GC I've seen! Congratulations. What is your field office?

Well, it has been fast recently (given that they skipped EAD/AP and interview) but I've been waiting 10+ years (Priority Date: May 2011), so I have mixed feeling about the word "fast". Thanks though! My field office was NBC.

I understand what you mean, it's a long process for us Indians. I meant to ask what your local office would be (same as biometrics office)?

Woah. My local office was Lawrence, MA for the biometrics. My residential address is in CT, but my mailing address is in MA, so I'm guessing that's what they used for the location of the biometrics. I'm trying to figure out what my final local office to get an idea of the processing times. Were yours in Boston, or the surrounding locations in Everett or Lawrence?

Congratulations! I will share an update on my case too. But before that, I wanted to ask if you also submitted GC for a spouse? If yes, did you get approvals for both (or dependents)?
