I am absolutely overwhelmed with everything that has to do with the green card. And I do not have the money to hire a lawyer so i really need some help. Here is some more information about me:
I moved here end of 2006 on a student visa (F-1). My husband and I just got married and I now have to apply for the green card through the adjustment of status since i already have a visa. My husband is a U.S. citizen by the way.
Here are my main questions:
1. Which forms do I have to file? (i-485, the medical exam one, the I-130, hes got to file). Do i also have to file the employment authorization form? or does that automatically come with the green card
2. Do i have to fill out the forms with my maiden name or my last name from marriage. I do want to take his name but cant officially change it until i get a ssn, which icant yet anyways until i have the green card. so i am confused what to write on it.
3. Do i have to send all of this to chicago or tampa. Or do i make an appointment and bring it all to tampa. I am not sure. (tampa is the office for florida where i live).
Please, I need some help. I am absolutely overwhelmed and want to fill it all out right so i dont have to redo everything and pay another $1,500.
