I do not know if i am posting this message at the right forum. Please pardon me if it is not the right place.

      Below is my question:

I have 10 years green card. Is it possible for me to file for my kids with ages of 15,13,8 years respectively. I brought them with me to USA 5 years ago. I could not file for them due to lack of finance when i did my adjustment of status.
For medical and paperwork they need SSN.I do not know if there is any way i can use my status of 10 years green card to file, for them to atleast have SSN first .

I will appreciate all your answers.
      Thank you!

        Hey SmithB,

        1. Do you plan to walk-in or call them before going? when do you plan to go. curious to see how it goes. I know end of the day it all depends on the local ASC office. some allow some doesn't.
        2. Its 50/50 for walk-in. Just wondering what reason you plan to give if they ask. its good to have some strong reason in case they ask why early
        3. If you manage to sneak-in the walk in, do you have to go again on the actual appointment day Sep 20. just wondering how it works as long as it doesn't get reported as "no show" on real appointment day.

I am also planning to attempt walk-in on Wed or Thursday as its just 15 mins from my place.

From many posts I have read in the last 3 years:
1.- most of the time if you call they will say 'no, wait for your appointment day'
2.- if you do a walk-in, wait for them to say that your appointment is for another day, then you can say why you can't do it on your appointment day and want to see if you can do it early
3.- if you are able to do the walk-in, then your bio is done, you don't need to go again.

What we did, we waited for our appointment date. I don't think, in our case, that the GC would have been approved 1 or 2 weeks early if we did a walk-in.

My biometrics appointment is finally scheduled for later this month. I am waiting for the notice in mail. I filed for my AOS in May '21 in EB13. There is no change in online status though.

We had biometric for Sep 23rd. Attempted an early walk-in today Sep 8th with unsuccessful attempt (ASC: Lawrence, MA).

The officer said the earliest we could come is Sep 20th and wrote a note on the notice to come on 20th. Will go on Sep 20th now.

Tama office early walk ins successful but read details below:

My notice for bio appointment was for sept. 20. I walked in today Sept 8th and there was a lady by the front door immediately asked me what time was my appointment. I said its actually for another day. She was kind of rude and said then why are you here today! I said: I would like to know if I can get this done earlier and she said no. Then she asked why I wanted earlier if I have a doctors appointment or something I can proof that I want be able to go on that day! I again said I don't and its not a problem to come back but just wanted to get them done earlier. While I was talking she looked at my ID and my appointment notice and asked me why my name was wrong on the notice. (the way it display on the notice was: Middle Last first and underneath as a second line first middle last). I said I dk and thats how I received the notice so I thought thats how its supposed to be , she said not its supposed to be first middle last on the first line. At this point I think she felt sorry and said I will make an exception and let you talk to an officer to fix your name. So they let me in and the officer fixed my name and then they took my fingerprints.
The office was definitely busy. Lets just say I got lucky.

yeah its all luck in the end. in my case the officer was rude and there were barely 1 or 2 people waiting. still she said no.

2 weeks late EAD/AP/GC in hand

As soon as I get my letter I’m going to give it a try.
