I-485 withdrawn case investigation

Hi everyone,
I paid my first husband to petition me to get a green card while I was studying in the US. We went to the 1st interview and the officer just told us to go home to wait for the 2nd interview as he suspected the marriage fraud. In the meantime, my 1st husband was so crazy and I withdrew the case and divorced him. Years later, I married my current husband, this is real marriage, and so, my new i-485 has been pending for 5 years (I applied in 2016). Uscis just came and asked about my current marriage AND the first one. They checked my phone, FB, asked many questions, and believed it. But they asked a lot more about the first one, and I told them I paid my 1st husband.
What do you think about my story? Have any of you been through this and still got approved?

If I understand your post correctly, you have NOT had an interview for your I-485 case yet? So your case is still in that 'investigation' phase?

Can you provide a timeline for your first I-485 case and recall what happened during that interview? The questions which were asked during that interview and how they were answered would have been noted by the IO for that interview. The details of that interview and the interviewing IO's notes will be heavily scrutinized along with your full background. If possible, the background check will extend to your native country (assuming your country exchanges information with US government agencies).

Five years seems ridiculous, and it truly is ridiculous. But what we've been able to learn is that our case was handled by single agent in this office, then another single agent in that office. And every one of them has a huge stack of cases on their desk.
